PLEASE PRAY FOR NATHAN!

On Monday, December 12, Nathan suffered a stroke.  His wife, Beth, immediately called 911, and Nathan was taken to the Glens Falls Hospital.  A CT scan was done, as well as an MRI. Nathan’s right side was affected from top to bottom, and there was some swelling in the brain.

On Tuesday, December 13, Nathan was air-lifted to the Albany Medical Center. The swelling and bleeding in the brain caused the situation to decline, which necessitated the move.  Because of the location of the swelling and bleeding, surgery was necessary to relieve the pressure.

Wednesday, December 14 – Nathan had a good night and the CT scan showed that the surgery stabilized the swelling. The Doctor said that the primary artery feeding the left side of the brain was the cause of the stroke and it is now stabilized as well.  

The next few days are critical for the Doctors to be able to clinically evaluate him, see how things will progress and make decisions. They say that a large section of the left side of his brain is damaged and that the recovery process will be long. The damage from the stroke will still affect him to some degree and we won’t know that answer for many days.

Nathan’s brother (Wes), sister (Mindy) and parents (Nedra and Doug) are now all here with Beth, having arrived at different times throughout the week.

The outpouring of love and concern has been moving.  There have been so many calls and folks trying to communicate their support.
